Imarpe, The Peruvian Institute for Marine Research, has estimated at 1.450 million mt the Peruvian anchovy biomass in the North-Centre area. Imarpe recommends NOT to open the second fishing season  for the period November 2014-January 2015 in order to preserve the stock. The official decision by the Peruvian government is expected shortly.
